If I want to go boating, swimming, use the challenge course, or do other programming during my event, when should I book that, and what is involved?

Group leaders should book all programming at least 3 weeks in advance and should coordinate this with guest services at the time of the event booking when possible. More than one group may be at camp during your stay, so early booking helps assure staffing and program availability. Camp Mack provides their own lifeguards for swimming and boating, and they are required to be on duty for swimming or boating.

Only enter the lake with a lifeguard on duty or when given permission through guest services.

Swimming can be scheduled Memorial Day to Labor Day. Thunder and lightning will close the beaches for 30 minutes and will reopen 30 minutes after lightning is last seen and thunder is last heard. available late May through early September, depending on weather conditions and whether the beaches are ready. If there is thunder or lightning, swimming is delayed 30 minutes after that. The clock will restart if more lightning or thunder occurs.

  • Life jackets and/or other flotation devices must be Coast Guard approved and may be worn in the shallow end of the swimming beach only. Deep end swimmers must pass a swim test that consists of swimming and treading water.
