Camp Mack’s campus offers a wide range of comfortable, flexible, and purpose-built facilities to support retreats, family gatherings, conferences, school groups, and overnight stays. From the John Kline Welcome Center to fully equipped lodges, yurts, meeting rooms, outdoor gathering areas, and RV and camper hookups, each space is designed to foster connection, growth, and shared experiences. Camp Mack provides the setting and hospitality that help make every retreat, reunion, and group event meaningful and memorable.
Additional Meeting & Outdoor Areas
- The John Kline Meeting Room in the John Kline Welcome Center has a built-in projector, a sink, and flexible space for various table and chair arrangements. It features the Camp Mack Museum on the west wall. This space can hold up to about 60 people, depending on the setup.
- The centrally located Jacob’s Well Pavilion has a lot of available power. There are overhead lights, a water spigot, a new metal roof, and some covered space for tables or picnic tables. A campfire circle is in this vicinity for usage. The surrounding grassy area can be used for additional seating. This pavilion is near the Health Center, giving access to the individual restroom stalls along the west and south walls. A wooden gazebo also provides a small meeting space on the south side of camp near the lake.
- Wedding Hill is a beautiful grassy area nestled between hedges that add some privacy to the space. This area faces the lake and has benches available during warmer months. Electricity can be pulled from the nearby lakeside pavilion at the swimming beach.
- The Lakeside Venue is a whimsical-feeling grassy area below Shultz Chapel and Wampler Retreat Center that is surrounded by trees and is lined by the lakeside. Electricity can be pulled down from the two nearby buildings.
- There are several fields around Camp Mack to use for activities and parking. Parking is not available on the Softball Field. Please consult guest services for further information on parking.
- Located behind the John Kline Welcome Center, Arky Parky is a fun space for people of all ages. The main feature is a wooden ark, animals, and a rainbow for people to play on. This space also has Four Square, 9 Square in the Air, GaGa Ball, a bouldering wall, a playset with swings and a slide, a hexagon of porch swings, and two multi-use basketball courts.
- A sand volleyball court is located on the east side of camp between the Letter Cabins and Mission Village. Another one is located near the W Cabins, along with an extra 9 Square in the Air and GaGa Ball pit.
- A croquet court can be found along the path by the lake.
- An observation deck can be accessed by the south trails beyond the boating beach.
- There are several trails in Camp Mack’s north property on the other side of Camp Mack Road that may be used by camp guests. The challenge course and archery range are located in this area and can be booked through guest services.
- Located between Sarah Major Lodge and Wedding Hill, the Peace Garden provides a welcoming place to gather and reflect. There you will find a half labyrinth, a gathering circle, benches, swings facing the lake, and plants that bloom throughout the year. It is a popular place to enjoy Waubee Lake.
