EAGLE WATCH

Prepare for an awesome Eagle Adventure and join us as we travel to Salamonie for a short program on eagles and then drive to some well-known eagle spots.  We will end up at the roost site to watch the Bald Eagles fly in for the night.  Eagle Watch is led by the Upper Wabash Interpretive Services.

When:  Sunday, February 12, 1p- 10p.
Where: Meet at JKWC (offsite)
Cost: $20 (Snacks included)

*Register early.  Event is outdoors; dress for the weather.  Bring binoculars.  We will stop for supper on the way home.

WILDFLOWER WALK

Experience the changes in the wilderness area as spring puts on a beautiful show of wildflowers and blooming shrubs.  Appreciate the Trillium, Blood Root, Spring Beauties, Hepatica and others in bloom.

PRAIRIE FLOWER WALK

Explore our 5 acres of natural prairie area.  See the prairie come alive with darting dragonflies and birds that swoop between the Blue Stem grasses, Compass Plant, Indigo, Rattlesnake Master and other unique plants.

FALL NUT AND TREE IDENTIFICATION WALK

If you've ever dreamed about Chestnuts roasting over an open fire, come along for a day of nut and tree identification.  We will focus on edible nuts and their uses.  Nuts include Acorns, Walnuts, Hickory Nuts and more.

When: Sunday, October 22, 2p- 4p.

SANDHILL CRANES TRIP

Travel with us to the Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area.  Observe upwards of 10,000+ cranes in the field from the observation platform as they fly in and dance while traveling along their migration route. This event should be on every birders life list.
